hi ladies...
lets take the discussion here!
Lena - so how will u both decide which one to go to which workshop? hhahaha..
and for everyone else familiar with ABM workshps: there will be no bonus layouts for this special edition.. you will do all 3 in the class, therefore each of the class is 3.5hrs long. :)

Erni
1st July 2008, 09:59 PM

Erni

Goodie! But for the workshop package, must take both classes in July?
currently the August schedule is not out yet... its better if you can do both in July or both in Aug coz it gets a little messy in case you attend one in july and cant make it for aug.. you know what i mean?
but in general, it should be okay if schedule does not permit that you attend one in jul, pay for the bundle fee and do 2nd one in Aug. you just need to help remind the cashier counter on the 1st of Aug of your workshop date and retain the receipt just in case. :)

Sharon K

Is there any theme for the LOs? (eg family, couple, friends..) What are the photos choices that we can use?
Jasmine
1st July 2008, 10:59 PM
no particular theme ... you can mix and match photos and change up the titles
with the exception of one of the josie layouts entitled '5 things' where you will create a LO based on 5 things of any topic of your choice
5 things we / I / he/she/they love(s)
5 things we / I / he/she/they say
5 things we / I / he/she/they do
etc etc...
you can go down to view the samples and decide on the photos accordingly. :)
Sharon K
1st July 2008, 11:02 PM

Hi Jasmine, will there be any new techniques that we'll be learning for these classes?
Jasmine
4th July 2008, 11:30 PM
hi sharon..
there are many different reasons why people sign up for workshops. Some sign up to learn new techniques, some sign up to add more pages to their albums, some sign up to dedicate those hours to doing some scrapping ... so on and so forth...
as with all beautiful mess workshops, they have always been idea workshops rather than technique based ones.
this means that you come to the workshop and create layouts using my ideas and interpretations of the products. they are freestyle layouts and you are free to inteprete and change up your layout if you want by adding or subtracting as many have done before.
this type of workshop is useful if you like the products but have no idea how to use them in your own layouts.
however there are always some new tips and techniques to be taught, whether its 'new' will depend on what you already know. also as this workshop falls under the same style of scrapping and if you've been coming for previous beautiful mess workshops then you would want a consistent look in all your layouts when put together in an album.
as to which series is nicer.... again that is very much a personal preference. I have asked quite a few customers and MWL staff which series they prefer and i get almost a 50-50 response so its best if you go down to look at the samples.
I have my favourites from both series as they challenge me differently.
hope this answers your query.

6 of us wanted to attend the 2 special edition classes. I called the shop yesterday and realised to my dismay that the slots for the weekend classes are fully booked. I hope there would be more weekend classes when mwl is planning for august schedule - all of us can't make it for the weekday courses unless they falls on public holidays. heh :becky:

Finally I saw the samples (6 LOs altogether, 3 LOs each edition) and they looked great! I'm attending 10 Jul class and I loved the designs :). Hmmm... now I need to hunt for photos...
Jasmine, can I bring couples photos (me and my DH) for ALL 3 LOs? I realised for "peace" and "two of us" LOs, it seems more suitable using sisters/girlfriends photos. Or how about solo photos can? If can't find any suitable photos for the class, can I just come without and fix the photos later?? (sorry, I'm always cracking my head when choosing suitable photos for classes, pls pardon me)

I have actually sent an email regarding this..
Was wondering if it is possible for MWL to place us all into the same class when they are planning for the august schedule? There are 7 of us now.
It doesnt make sense to call when the schedule is out esp since jasmine's classes are usually "sold off like hotcakes" :becky:
fyi the weekend of the National Day holiday will not be good for us.

You might want to call MWL. If you get enough people sometimes they can arrange a special/private class.
