Fairly often scrappers are stumped when it comes to describing their style. Is it shabby ? Is it linear and clean ? Simple ? True to say most of us alternate between styles depending on what inspires us or on the ideas that pop into out heads. Everyone has a style they like and are most comfortable with but what makes a layout special is always the balance in design, the colour, some unusual technique in a visually pleasing blend that just fits ! One scrapper with an amazing designing eye who needs no introduction, with a style that is current and fresh is Piradee.

Do you love working with brights ? If you are scrapping a page for a young child, all those funny and odd moments that cause you to laugh or cry …… bright papers are the way to go. Many scrappers I know find working with a bright pallete difficult and have a hard time figuring out all the embellishments that go with the paper. One tip would be to use the papers and embellishments in the same line or paper pack.

A scrapper who needs no introduction when it comes to bright tones layered one on top of the other, who fills her pages with quirky details is  Pooi Pooi. We are featuring chipboards and Thickers this time around and even though Pooi Pooi has tons on her layout, everything seems to fit perfectly !

Hello everyone !

We were thrilled when  Adeline Lim (aamummy) agreed to be our Guest Designer for August and September ! We love her sophisticated style and the way her layouts have compositions that are balanced and fresh.

This is how Adeline started scrapbooking and why :

I took up scrapbooking in 2008 after my little boy was born and I decided to stay home with my newborn and toddler. From a banker to a mummy handling terrible- twos tantrums, scrapping and shopping for materials became my biggest means of stress relief! When my boy was 6 months old, my husband was relocated to Shanghai for his work and we moved with him. That was when I went into scrapping seriously to keep myself occupied and distracted from all the frustrations of adjusting to an entirely new culture.

 We have just moved back to Singapore from Shanghai in February and I get my scrapping and shopping fix from MWL. It is such a blessing to access the latest products conveniently! I do not really have a fixed style of scrapping and I usually just adopt whatever that comes to mind, sometimes clean lines, sometimes vintage,, and sometimes shabby… I am also working hard to improve my photography and editing skills to complement my scrapping obsession.

Hello Scrappers ! And what a wonderful long weekend to celebrate Singapore’s 45th Birthday ! Hopefully amidst the family get-togethers and catching the National Day Parade you had time to indulge in some scrappy time. Share what you did, upload your layouts into the Gallery so we can see your projects and layouts.

This week’s inspiration layout is from team member Sharon Chan whom we know creates art pages using a whole range of mediums. Made With Love now has a dedicated corner to Inks, Paints and Mists, a real heaven for scrappers wanting to venture or explore their uses.

Hello Scrappers, I hope your week had a great start ? As we move into Tuesday, I would like to introduce two scrappers who are familiar names in the Gallery. They recently joined our team and we are so excited to have them contribute their creative work !

Wendy has been helming the Magical Wishes classes and some of you may already know her through her classes.

Adeline (aamummy) joins us as  Guest Designer for August and September. You have seen her stylish work posted in the Gallery and Adeline recently returned from Shanghai with her family.

Congratulations to  Maggie who fashioned this layout for Scrap Dares #2 hosted by Emeline.
