{SIZZIX WEEKEND MAKE N TAKE INSTRUCTIONS}
Posted by elvi on Wednesday Sep 8, 2010 Under Events, News & HappeningsWe had long snaking queues for our make n takes, and for those who we didn’t want to keep waiting, you had the option of doing a TAKE and MAKE!!! Lol!!! So we got you to TAKE the kits and MAKE them at home.
As promised, here are the instructions for the 2 make n takes we had the privilege of doing over the weekend.
Instructions for Saturday’s Make N Take:-
Oooo …. didn’t we have fun with this one on Saturday. So if you opened up your kit, you would have found these supplies below in them.
If you’re new to scrapping, then this is how we embossed your medium sized piece of cream colored paper.
Using the Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2pk – Damask and Regal Flourishes Set (Item No.: 656648) from the Tim Holtz Alterations collection
We placed the piece of cream colored cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot machine.
And TA-DAAAAAH … … out comes a beautifully embossed piece of cardstock boasting the Regal Flourishes design … …
To highlight the embossed design, you may choose to ink the embossed cardstock and then … ..
… … using a sanding block or sand paper, you may distress the embossed cardstock further by sanding the embossed surface so that you accentuate the design.
Alternatively, if you have the embossing folder, you could also use the letter pressing technique by inking the embossing folder before sandwiching the cardstock and running it through the machine for the embossing to be complete and to have a cleaner finish as seen in the sample below.
Now that the embossed piece is done, you may start working on the green ribbon which you can do real simply like this. Tape glue down one end of the ribbon to the other like this below.
And then press in the middle and adhere it down with tape glue or staple it together like this below.
Here comes the extra fun bit … …Using the Sizzix Bigz Die – Flower 3D below (Item No.: 656545)
Die cut the larger flower as seen here …
And voila!!! Start creating your very own 3D flower.
Using a satay stick, toothpick or tweezer (whatever works best for you) begin to roll in the end starting from the outermost ring of the flower and work your way in.
Once you’ve wound it all tightly, loosen it to your hearts desire, depending on how big or small you want the flower to be and then stick down the end of the ‘floral spiral’ with a glue dot as seen below.
Now that you’ve got the main elements ready, just refer to this picture of the sample to pull your card together.
Hope you have scrapping fun with this Make N Take and that it brought a SMILE to your face!
Now moving on to Sunday’s Make N Take …. Here are the instructions!:)
Using the Sizzix Bigz Die – Tattered Florals (Item No.: 656640) from the Tim Holtz Alterations collection, we got these flowers.
And using the Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2pk – Damask and Regal Flourishes Set (Item No.: 656648) from the Tim Holtz Alterations collection again …. (this time we used the embossing folder on the left)
We got this beautiful embossed piece of Coordinations cardstock … …
Using a sanding block, sand the embossing image to reveal the underlying darker teal color to accentuate the embossed design for this lovely effect as seen below … …
With that done, it’s easy peasy all the way as you layer your embellishments as seen in the sample above.
We really hope you’ll have fun with these make n take ideas and with design ideas like these, it’s all a matter of playing around with all the Sizzix goodies you’ve got, to come up with yet more beautiful creative projects for yourself and your loved ones!!!
