The common questions scrappers at Made With Love ask are usually about inspiration and how to come up with ideas for layouts. How much a person scraps and experiments with the products is the key to discovering what you like and the styles that suit you best. There are dozens of layouts on the walls of the store and you might find an element or two in the designs which you can use. Remember to just relax, have fun, approach scrapbooking as playtime for you ….. like the way a child experiments with Legos, there is no right or wrong, only the enjoyment of the moment.

The Design Team is going through a stretch of musical chairs with our schedules and you might see the teams a little mixed up this week. These creatively awesome women have day jobs, some have kids, they move homes and obviously these take proirity. Not too worry, we still try very hard to keep up the fab quotient as you can see ……

Hello scrappers ! We are constantly amazed by the variety of products available now in scrapbooking. Certainly notepaper designs are not new but the charming twists manufacturers have added to them make these papers iresistable and we are seeing fabulous layouts created.

Why? - I like the combination of colours, which were very pleasant to the eyes and blended well with the serenity and quiet joy of the photo. The various embellishments were also very beautifully placed, making the LO look very pleasant to the eye.

We’d been waiting for months for Celine Navarro’s arrival and were we blown away by both her talent and personality!!! What we love about her workshops is the fact that she empowers each and every scrapper with techniques which allow us to express our own unique creativity so that every scrapper comes up with a one-of-a-kind project on their own!!!

This past weekend from 8-10 May ‘09 was a truly precious experience and the fortunate 72 scrappers (who each got themselves at least a spot in one of 3 workshops that offered a total of 132 spots) experienced a fun time of scrapping and learning as a whole bunch of us got together to get our hands dirty and creative!!!

Here are some sneaks of what went on …

Up, close and personal demonstrations were given as Celine took us through really cool techniques that achieved stunning effects. My personal fave was the Layouts workshop!!!

And there was plenty of experimenting … which we thought was loads of fun!!!

More demos in between by Celine and we loved it that questions flowed freely … the more we asked …. the more we learned …

Hands … never too dirty from all the painting fun to receive a prize ….what a great smile!!!

Even paint-stained wet towels become works of art on their own with all the experimenting … …;)

Almost everyone went home with ink or paint-stained fingers, creative ideas swimming in their heads and this goody bag which Celine lovingly autographed on the hand-made tags that Kelly, Teresa and Soo Jen designed with love making use of techniques we’d learnt from Celine when we attended her workshop in the US!

But most importantly, we remember Celine for being the sweetest person who’s super fun to be with, incredibly unassuming, she never fails to bring a smile to our faces … a truly kind and genuine person …. we love her to bits!

And one of the rare group shots we got with a particularly ENEGETIC bunch of workshop attendees who were oodles of fun!!!

But yes!!! This was a truly precious weekend all of us at Made With Love and we hope it was for you who were with us too! :)

As promised, I am back with great layouts from the Design Team !  The work you see below features products from My Mind’s Eye and KI, all created in the amazing variety of styles by three scrappers in the Design Team.

This is the gorgeous paper pack designed by Andrea Victoria for My Mind’s Eye in the classic tones of cream, mustard and brown which truly will satisfy the scrapper who has a preference for neutrals.

Piradee  created a stunning layout with them ! The line is sold in a paper pack as well as individually and  is available in the store now. Remember to check out Piradee’s layout to get an idea of how you can layer the papers for a similar look.

For scrappers who prefer girly-girl colours, My Mind’s Eye has created the Pretty Please collection to fulfill the sweetness factor !

 Leena created this layout in a simple style using some of the products from the collection. As you can see the soft colours of the Pretty Please line combined with a strong background colour is perfect for a tribute to a friendship.

Pooi Pooi is fabulous at using the range of KI papers and embellishments to create a totally fun, colourful page documenting her son’s alphabet learning !
