We don’t know how we did it, but we did … …  a shipment this size would normally take us a couple of days to prep, but the 10 of us did it in 16 hours straight without sleep … all thanks to Singapore Customs who caused us to work the graveyard shift.

And thank you everyone for all the cute and hilarious jokes you’ve been texting us and posting on our online forum about the authorities to cheer us up!

Thanks for being able to laugh with us at this debacle and we truly appreciate how everyone’s been really patient about the delay cos we know you’ve been reeeally looking forward to this shipment of scrapalicious supplies!!

EPISODE 1 - ALL’S NOT LOST!

Drama enfolded yesterday at our place as we desperately sought to have our shipment of this week’s new arrivals delivered on time to our doorstep! We’ve received a variety of reasons for delayed shipments but this one takes the cake!

An over-zealous bunch of Singapore customs officers took it upon themselves to suddenly inspect our invoices closely, for a change, and chanced upon our orders for copious amounts of books (something we’ve done on NUMEROUS occasions), BUT this time, they began to harbour suspicions that this one Made With Love could possibly be importing QUESTIONABLE MATERIAL!!! And so, our ENTIRE shipment of new arrivals along with every other company’s shipment sharing the container truck with us with deliveries due yesterday, have been detained by Singapore customs!!!

Oh my goodness … how wrong could they possibly beeee!!!! If only they knew that we are as wholesome a place as it can get!!! It’s times like these, that makes us wonder if our name evokes naughty thoughts in the minds of the corrupt, seeing that we’ve had our fair share of taunts in the past!

In trying to make sense of all of this, we hypothesized that perhaps as local customs officers scrutinised our invoices, scrapping tools with names like the Papergator (pun on alligator) from Around the Block - a big metal contraption that punches holes through extremely thick stacks of paper, sends shivers down their spines, and brands such as Daisy Ds in their minds could be a code word for Daisy’s Dynamite!!! And all this beautiful patterned paper that we import could actually have had secret spy messages embedded in their designs that can only be revealed with a distressing technique known as sanding?

Anyhow … … by the time you read this, we hope that it has been cleared. As of our last update, Singapore Customs is awaiting Media Development Authority’s approval to release our cargo!

And so … … we hope you won’t throw eggs at us when we tell you that Trendy New Arrivals Thursday will be Funky New Arrivals Friday this week!!! We expect the shipment to be delivered today and we’re gonna rush them out for you by tomorrow!
