::SFL CROP PARTY ON SAT. 21/10 - WHAT A RIOT::
It was a meeting for die-hard fanatics hopelessly addicted to this mad passion of ours - scrapbooking!!! Scrapaholic For Life members together with some of their guests scrapped their hearts out for a total of 7 hours!!! Goody boxes were given out at the start which included Prima flowers, a spool of Prima velvet ribbon, a pack of Daisy Ds metal tabs, a 7 gypsies 97% complete tag and a pack of My Mind’s Eye bling for their scrapping pleasure.

Challenges for the day were also announced at the start for a bit of scrapping fun … … Anne-Marie passed around a ”Technique Jar” to scrappers who had to do a lucky dip of sorts for techniques contributed by the Made With Love Design Team (DT). Earlier on in the week prior to the crop, she had asked each of the designers on the DT to contribute a couple of their favourite often used techniques.
Scrappers then had to scrap a layout using any of the techniques they picked out of the “Technique Jar” and were encouraged to ask the designers on-hand for tips and tricks in incorporating those techniques. Attendees of the crop were also told that a representation of all the scrap supplies in the goody box had to be used on the layout.
Everyone would then vote at the end of the crop for their most-liked layout.
AM also came up with a questionaire for another challenge titled ‘How Well Do You Know Your DT?’. Attendees of the crop were asked a variety of questions ranging from non-scrap related questions such as their fave flavour of ice-cream to what they wanted to be when they were little and scrap-related questions such as what their fave mix of colours, how they’d describe their scrapping style and what inspires each of them.
Oh…you should have seen how the attendees slogged over the questions … … ;)

The respite came in the form of shopping as exclusive scrapbook product specials for all crop attendees were revealed!!! And the scrap labs lay rather empty for a while as scrappers made a dash to stock up on more scrap supplies!!!

Even little Grace didn’t stop Marilyn from dashing out of the scrap labs for some shopping action!!!

And then they scrapped … … and scrapped … … and scrapped … … and scrapped … …

Aida, ever generous with her knowledge of scrapbooking, sharing a scrapping tip or 2 with Hui Ching at the crop… …

And what’s a crop party without foooood!!! Chenta and Winnie prepared these deeeeelicious snacks which all of us indulged in. But the real highlight of the tea-time snack was her super spicy salsa that reeeally got everyone’s lips smacking!!!
The nutella flower-shaped white bread sandwiches were to cute to eat but in the end, nobody could resist them!!!

There was plenty of laughter and smiles … …

The music was good … … scrappers hummed while they scrapped … … all thanks to Erlia’s iPod … … except for her “chase away the ghosts” tunes that got everyone dropping their tools in trepidation … …

Completed layouts were celebrated elsewhere in the store … …

With firm friendships being made … …

A pair of lovebirds scrapped in unison … ;)

And our DT members Merdrey and Brenda-Mae got some of their own scrapping done as well. :)

Crop attendees bonded as they exchanged scrapbooking tips and tricks with each other… …
And to get to know each other even better … … everyone was asked to contribute a little something for another to scrap with on an Artist Trading Card (ATC). Everyone did a lucky dip for an item to scrap with.
I got 5 clear page pebbles from Karen and Siti got a Love, elsie embellishment from me…

This is the ATC which I made that Felicia did another lucky dip for ….

And this is what Siti made with my Love, elsie frame embellishment … cool huh! :) I forgot who got hers …

And i got a real pretty ATC from Fabian who put lots of work into it … … such is his dedication to his craft ;)

And Felicia, who got mine, made this gorgeous ATC…. which i’m not sure who got … … More pictures of wonderful ATCs created by the rest of the attendees are on our online gallery … …
But you get the drift? Basically, like the ATC exchange, the rest of the crop saw conversations exchanged freely, laughter flowed across the scrap labs, scrapping ideas and tools were shared and it was pure scrapping bliss … and that’s what a crop party is all about. :)
Living out our passions with like-minded people … … in good company with not a care in the world … … the only worry probably on most scrappers’ minds … did i get my colours right? Hee hee… …
Then there’s always the thrill of winning something at a crop party … …

In this case, Carol won herself $20 worth of Made With Love vouchers for getting the most number of answers correct for the “How Well Do You Know Your DT?” challenge!! Congrats Carol!!!
And just before the crop ended, for the layout challenge introduced at the start of the crop, crop attendees had to present their LOs and point out the techniques of a DT member which they used and how they included all the embellishments which we supplied them. I would have been a nervous wreck if i had to do it but everyone did it with such such aplomb!! Faaantastic!!

But in the end, it was Avina who took the prize of another $20 worth of Made With Love vouchers for getting the most number of votes for her layout… … her layout had a spin-like design element that elicited many ooos and aaahs… :)

Buuuuut, even though it was past 9, the crop party didn’t end and some crop attendees stayed behind for Made With Love’s very first carolling practice!! Pity i had to go move boxes and couldn’t join in … …

Brenda-Mae and Erlia were their captive audience … … but i must say it was a great start for a 1st carolling practice. Sandra who was unaware of what was happening in the lscrap labs actually asked me which Christmas music CD i was playing in them. hehehe….
So well done people!!! You’ve got it together!!! :)
By the way, thanks AM for planning all of this, it’s one of my 1st ever crops where i actually got to scrap instead of running around and thanks for all the fun and laughter everyone …. i really enjoyed myself and hope you did too! :)
Can’t wait for our next crop together ….which will be soooon….our 4th Birthday Crop Party is just round the corner … … and although i won’t get to scrap at that one … i just can’t wait to share with you all the exciting activities we’ve planned for the day just for you! :)
So till we meet again, keep on lovin’ and keep up the scrappin’!!!
e.
