::ROOTBEER DRINKING COMPETITION WEEK 3::
It’s week 3 of our CROPTOBER FEST and this past week’s Root-beer Drinking Competition was by far one of the most exciting and drama-mama ones!!! A pity we didn’t get to blog about the previous 2 but the most recently held competition saw the return of Week 1’s defending champion, who we affectionately know as scrapper Sophia’s husband!!
Interestingly, a bunch of lady scrappers who knew that they would be up against quite a lot if they pitted their root-beer boozing skills against Sophia’s hubby, cleverly sponsored a strapping … ooops!! i mean scrapping male, Fabian for the competition. Sponsorship entailed a registration fee in the form of a $20 purchase from our in-house cafe {TABLE SCRAPS}!!!
At the same time, an innocent guy, who we affectionately refer to as scrapper Kathleen’s boyfriend (we soooo quickly assumed, come to think of it ;P), was waiting to tuck into dinner at the cafe. He was not spared and was egged on by us to join in the competition to win the $80 worth of Made With Love vouchers for Kathleen. After some persuasion and loud proclamations of our skepticism over his true affections for Kathleen, the resigned fella gave in and readied himself to prove us wrong.
And what a competition it was!!! All 3 were off to a good start and looked real steady. A couple of side glances were made to check out the competition by competitor Fabian here. But just look at how far back Sophia’s hubby’s head is tilted! He practically poured the contents of the bottle straight into his throat!!! Forget about swallowing!!!
Waaah!!! What poise even when guzzling down a bottle of root-beer! We can almost imagine him breaking out into some operatic song the minute the bottle leaves his lips!!! :)
This is one cool Joe….no stress lines on this guy’s face!!! :)
Ahem! Some serious bicep action going on there!!! :)
And…… a dramatic finish saw most competitors slumped over in what looked like discomfort, with one competitor even waving his hand in what seemed like a desperate bid to indicate that this “gruelling” competition was more than he could handle!!! :P
But ultimately, there was no fight against the defending champion from Week 1 who downed the root-beer like a pro and got to go home with one very happy scrapping wife!!!
Our heartiest congratulations to this lovely couple who’s 2nd time lucky!!! Actually, he earned every “drop” of his win with his calm demeanour and smooth tactics. A win-win situation for both husband and wife we say… … she gets to shop for free and he saves $160 on the household income!!! Scrapping as a true family activity fully epitomised with this win!!!
Also, do note that it’s Ladies’ Night for the final Root-Beer Drinking Competition to be held on Friday, 26 Oct at 8pm. So if you’re a male scrapper or representative for a female scrapper, you’d better be in a skirt and have lipstick on if you wanna take part in the competition!! :)
To enter, simply make a minimum $20 purchase from our cafe {TABLE SCRAPS} and you qualify automatically. Just make sure you have your receipt at the point of registration and turn up on time for the competition to win that $80 worth of Made With Love vouchers for being the first to finish a bottle of our root-beer!!! :)
