{SURVIVOR CROP - LIVE UPDATE …OK… DELAYED BLOGCAST}
Sunday, September 30th, 2007Had internet connection breaks here and there…hence the delay in our 1st ever attempt to blogcast LIVE…. There was also soooo much going on…reporting became quite an impossibility. Hope the 1st 2 updates kept you sufficiently in the loop! :)
Anyway, the next task that the castaways had to complete in pairs was titled ‘A Closer Look’. Castaways were required to scraplift any layout designed by any member from our Design Team that’s on display at our place. But that was not all. They also had to stick to a list of strict criteria to earn themselves sufficient points to stay on in the game….and they had only 30min to complete the task.

Castaways were dead serious and swiftly jumped into scrappin’ action.

One castaway, Lyn was overheard saying,”Wow! That was the fastest 30 min of my life!” whilst another confided, “I hope I did Jen proud!” as she and her fellow castaway had scraplifted this particular designer’s layout.

And it was a joyous moment for these 2 castaways (seen in pic above) as they emerged the winners of this task and received a set of Around The Block large decorative brads and mini brads worth almost $20.

But it was a sad moment for 6 other castaways that had to be taken off from the game. These castaways (seen in the pic above) were asked to bring their “torches” to the tribal council area and they had their torches snuffed out, with a Got Flowers Prima bottle no less!!!:P
By this time, at around 1830hr, the castaways were already famished and they were served a meal of mashed potatoes, sausages and sauteed mushrooms, as witnessed from how longingly this starving castaway looked at the food that was served in his pic below!

Producers of the “show” made sure that castaways received sufficient nourishment as even fruits were served to ensure that they had a well-balanced diet that would sustain them for the rest of their journey on our scrapping “island”.

After dinner, next up was the task “It’s All Personal” where the 6 remaining castaways had to set the most number of eyelets under a minute. The sounds of hammering reverberated throughout the store as they “eyeleted” away like there was no tomorrow.

But some castaways just didn’t cut it when it came to “eyeletting” and 3 castaways with the least number of eyelets set within the stipulated time were swiftly asked to remove their “torches” from the tribal council area.

But because we’re all about LOOOOOVE, all castaways who had their “torches” snuffed out prematurely were given ice-cream to hopefully cheer them up a little. :)
Open crop time resumed as scrappers continued on scrapbook projects they had been working on in between the tasks and shopping specials.

After a bit of cropping, it was Survivor Crop Specials time again and it was back to more mad shopping as castaways made a beeline for the scrap supplies they desired.

Some castaways looked like they were in heaven with their buys, but reality set in quick and it was back to camp for the 2nd last task of the evening.

With 3 remaining castaways left after the previous task, another task had to be completed to find out who would make the FINAL 2.

And that task was “Speed Quiz” time. 3 castaways were each asked to take turns to answer a series of questions related to scrapbooking and Made With Love. It was the luck of the draw as castaways had to pick a number from a jar which corresponded to a question. Pick the wrong number and the castaway would get herself a difficult question. And they had only 10 sec to answer each question. Questions ranged from the prices of products e.g.”What is the cheapest scrap supply sold at Made With Love?” (Answer: ribbon at 50 cents a yard) which led to one castaway’s undoing. “I can’t believe that the ribbons cost 50 cents only for a yard” was one castaway’s constant indignant refrain…to the more sinister sounding questions asked, “There are said to be ghosts at Made With Love. What kind of ghosts are there?” (Answer: Heidi Swapp’s Ghost Shapes and Alphas)!!!

It was a difficult time for Ros, this castaway seen in the above pic because by being the castaway who answered the most number of questions correctly, she had won herself immunity and now had the difficult task of deciding who she would be taking with her to make the FINAL 2!
She made her choice after some deliberation and selected fellow castaway, Sharon.

The FINAL 2 at Tribal Council.

Nervous looks exchanged as the tribal council interrogated them.
They each then had to give a speech to explain why each of them deserved to be declared the Sole Survivor and win the 1 million rupiah (S$180) worth of Made With Love cash vouchers at stake. They were also asked what they would do with the vouchers. And this is what they had to say,
“I just wanted to crop! I didn’t really think about the prize. And I guess I will use the cash vouchers to offset what I’ve spent so far at Made With Love.” Ros innocently declared.
“I deserve to win because I’ve shopped at Made With Love for close to 3 years and have spent A LOT! I will also spend more with the vouchers to add to my stash to scrap nice, more beeeeautiful stuff to inspire everyone!” Sharon declared loudly with great generosity to the resounding laughter of the entire tribal council.

A very stern-looking me then reminded the tribal council that it was time to vote for who they thought should be declared the ultimate Sole Survivor and winner of the 1 million rupiah (S$180) worth of Made With Love cash vouchers.

It was then off to tally the votes… …

And then to declare the winner of Survivor - Made With Love Season 2. At one point with only 1 vote left to read, it was Ros - 6, Sharon - 6. Everyone waited with bated breath.

But the final vote went to SHARON!!!!! and she was declared the ultimate Sole Survivor!!!!

As runner-up, Ros takes home 250,000($45) rupiah worth of Made With Love cash vouchers.
Other candid shots captured during the crop event…..

Isn’t it obvious who won?

Jas & Sharon

Malee and Iris … … ever cheerful….simply the best!!! :)

As a gentle reminder, castaways had a notice board just outside the tribal council area to refer to all the different Survivor Crop specials they had been offered.

One happy but exhausted SOLE SURVIVOR!!!! :)

Awwwww….. ain’t that sweet? Real friendly competitors…:)
