SOMETHINGOOD 2007 MAKE N DONATE CHARITY CROPS {3-5 June ‘07}
Scrapbooking has been incredibly meaningful for all of us and the intrinsic benefits of all that scrapbooking has brought to our lives and the lives of our loved ones can be shared with a wider circle of people … …. ESPECIALLY those in need.
This month, we would like to invite you to join us in tapping on our scrapping and cardmaking talents to help raise funds through SOMETHINGOOD - a volunteer group chaired by youths who want to make a difference to the community which comes under the umbrella of CARE Singapore which reaches out to primary and secondary school youths at risk of academic failure, behavior problems, emotional maladjustment, self-harm or delinquency.
We really hope that you’ll be able to spare a couple of hours to be a part of our MAKE N DONATE crops. You will be taught cardmaking techniques and be given creative ideas for altered projects to complete creative projects on the spot at the crops. Your works of heART will then be collected and auctioned on eBAY under an online auction programme named Good Karma!. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of items made with love by all of us will be donated to CARE Singapore.
Here are a couple of helpful answers to questions if you’d like to be a part of this effort to give back to our society.
WHEN and WHERE will the Make N Donate Crops take place?
They are taking place from Sun 3/6 till Tues 5/6, 2pm-8pm at Made With Love.
Do I have to attend ALL the Make N Donate Crops?
No, you do not. Just spare an hour or 2 on any of the 3 days when the crops are held and join us in creating projects which we will guide you through. But you are certainly most welcome to come all 3 days and stay the full 6 hours a day to create as many projects as you can for this fund raising effort. Better yet! Gather a bunch of your usual cropping kakis (translates: friends) for a really meaningful crop session!
Do we have to pay a fee to attend these Make N Donate Crops?
No, you do not. It’s absolutely free and Made With Love will be donating scrapbook supplies and items to be altered for all participants to use for the fund-raising creative projects.
Please however remember to bring your own adhesives which should include tape glue and foam dots. You are also strongly encouraged to RAK a.k.a. Random Act of Kindness (translates: scrapbooking term for the word ‘donate’) your own scrapbooking products to further beautify your creative projects in order to fetch a higher price on eBAY in our bid to raise as much funds as possible for the at-risk youth helped by CARE Singapore. It’ll be great if all participants bring supplies that can be thrown into a common pool to be shared by one and all during the Make N Donate Crops. Any scrapbook supplies you are able to spare will be most appreciated.
Other things to note:-
A specific project will be focused on each day. You will be taught techniques and provided with creative ideas but no 2 projects will look alike as you will be given different supplies packs to work with and you can allow your creativity to take over.
